A rare, large and impressive Spanish oil painting on canvas depicting Saint Teresa Of Avila by a follower of Alonso Carlo (1601-1667; Granada). The painting dates to the first half of the XVII century. The original painting was painted by Carlo in 1629 when he was aged just 20 years.
Saint Teresa is represented with the habit of the Carmolite nuns with monastic attributes such as a rosary and religious book. The painting depicts The Crucified Christ appearing to Saint Teresa of Avila during a vision.
