A juz’, literally translated as “part” or “subdivision”, is one of the thirty parts of variable length in which the Koran is divided. In this case it is Juz’ 12, Surah Hud. The volume contains 11 pages, 9 of which are handwritten pages with beautiful Arabic calligraphy in dark ink; the Arabic writing is translated into Persian with red ink in a double register. The text is enriched with a beautiful ‘unwan painted with natural hues and a chapter opening. The Ayat, the verses, are marked by rosettes coloured in green. The text is complete.
Leather binding with embossed palmette decoration on the edge.
In good condition with minor old restorations; the cover is detached from the volume just as one page, but overall is a beautiful, authentic and original text.
