Koran - Persia - 1559 - Tabriz. A miniature manuscript folio from a Qur'an scribed in 1559 by Muhammed inn Muhammad Hasan al-Tabrizi, with chapter heading and marginals. The script (front and rear) is fine nata’liq in black with diametrical marking in red and marginal juz marking the 5th and 10th division verses of the chapter. These are in gilt with blue outline and finials north and south. Each verses is denoted by simple gilt ‘aya’ with red dot with 5 radial marking in blue on the circumference. Simple framing markings surround the whole ending in single blue line. A pair of round marginal ‘juz’. The reverse folio contains the same marginal Juz marking. The folio contains the final verses of chapter 52, At-Tur (Mount Tur) v:38-49 and the header of chapter 53, An-Najm (The Stars) and the first two verses. These verses from the Meccan chapters, question why the Meccan's deny the truth of God and provide reassurance to the Prophet that he has done all he can to persuade them of the truth of God, but if they choose not to listen, then that is their problem and will be their fate. The first verses of An-Najm describes the Prophets meeting with Gabriel. The overall quality is good, although there is some repair to the rear to ensure its stability. Please note that shipping costs are not solely the cost of the postal delivery service itself.
