古埃及前王朝时期 Flint Spearhead (没有保留价)
Ancient Egyptian Predynastic Flint Spearhead
Circa 4000–3000 B.C.
A finely worked Predynastic Egyptian flint spearhead, knapped from a striking dark brown to black flint with lighter inclusions.
The piece features a well-defined triangular blade with a tapering point and broad basal section. The form suggests preparation for hafting, with subtle shaping along the base. Both faces exhibit skilled bifacial flaking, with pronounced ripple marks and carefully controlled removals characteristic of accomplished craftsmanship.
The surface displays a rich, naturally developed patina with tonal variation ranging from deep black to warm brown, enhancing the visual appeal of the piece. The edges retain areas of sharpness, while minor irregularities reflect authentic use and age.
Such spearheads were essential hunting implements in Predynastic Egypt and represent the advanced state of lithic technology in the Nile Valley prior to the introduction of metal tools.
Length 5.0 cm.
Provenance: found in Egypt in 1930s.
Ex Swedish Egyptologist collection, 1990s.
Later in European collections.
