R3. Extremely rare. The medal commemorates the storming and capture of Narva on August 9, 1704, during the Great Northern War. It is known that tin alloy medals were also used as diplomatic gifts. Despite Peter I's instructions for careful handling, the original Müller dies saw intensive use and began to deteriorate rapidly, lasting less than a decade. The task of creating copies fell to various russian medallists, demonstrating a significant transfer of numismatic skill from Western Europe. Among those involved were O. Kalashnikov (identified by the marks OK and KO), I. Konstantinov (I.K.), Ivan Kozmin, and Vasily Klimov, who were active in the 1730s-1740s.
