Inside the box remain an inkstone (suzuri), a water dropper (suiteki), and an antique ink stick (koboku). The ink stick, titled “Wakan Sho-fu” (和漢書譜), is attributed to Gozen Taiemon of Nishio-mae, Kumaki-chō, and is believed to date from the late Edo to early Meiji period. Although the ink stick is broken in half, it serves not as a functional item but as an authentic historical reference that supports the provenance and period of the suzuribako.
