A fine original antique Chinese wedding sedan chair (comes complete with its lift pole) with removable roof and foldable stand. Purchased two decades ago from an antiquarian in Asia and part of our private collection of Chinese antiques. Intricately decorated with gilt carved figures and floral borders, surmounting a single seat cabin for the bride to sit, hand-carved frame decoration on all four sides in red, black and gold. This sedan dates from the late 19th cent and is in good overall condition, with some edge and paint losses and other wear commensurate with age and use. Originally from Zhejiang Province, China.
