If an item exceeds the specified size or weight, it may be shipped in multiple packages. ----- Signed Onuma Chikara (1927-2018) Born on May 3, 1927, in Naruko, Ōnuma Chikara became his father Makoto’s successor after returning from wartime work and beginning wood-turning training in 1945. He produced kokeshi from the start of his apprenticeship, later training several apprentices and gaining early recognition in print by 1956. Chikara continued making kokeshi for decades until declining health, passing away on March 23, 2018, at the age of ninety-two. Signed Takishima Shigeru (1936-2008) Born on February 13, 1936, in Miyagi Prefecture, Takishima began wood-turning training at age sixteen under Takahashi Morio in Naruko. After briefly leaving the trade, he re-entered it in 1967 upon marriage into the Takishima family and started producing kokeshi independently. Together with his wife Sayo, who later painted the dolls, he continued the Takakan style until his death on December 8, 2008, at age seventy-three. Set of 2 24*7*7cm Total 668g (Y1326)
