Bulgarian Empire Obverse: Jesus Christ sitting on a throne facing forward, raising both hands in a gesture of prayer and blessing, and at the top the inscription: IC-XC Reverse: Emperor Ivan Alexander and Michael Asen IV standing opposite, holding scepters, and between them a long Cross Ag silver This silver coin is believed to depict Emperor Ivan with his son and co-emperor Michael Asen IV. Since Michael died in 1355, the coin is dated between 1331 (when Ivan ascended the throne) and 1355.
