R2-A6 is an R2 series Astromech unit that appeared in Episode 1 of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, assigned to the Royal Security Forces of Naboo in 32 BBY (32 years before the Battle of Yavin).
This unit was one of five assigned to the Royal Cruiser of Naboo (J-type 327 Nubian royal starship). Unlike most other Astromech units, this unit survived the journey through the Trade Federation blockade when Queen Padmé Amidala left her home planet to join the Senate in The Phantom Menace.
Later, this droid was assigned to Bravo Leader (Naboo N-1 fighter) during the Battle of Naboo under the command of Captain Ric Olie. It was Captain Olie's favourite Astromech unit, and he was superstitious enough to only want this droid on board his N1 fighter. He believed that having this droid on board his fighter brought him luck.
The future of this robot is unknown, but since it did not suffer any damage or malfunction during this battle against the Trade Federation forces, we can assume that it continued to serve well in the hangars or aboard Naboo fighters.
