7 excellent and particularly large damask linen napkins with S.D. Initials for the early 20th C. The damask design has been very well achieved with sways of garlands covering the frame of the napkin with full open roses. The centre is scattered with bouquets of what appear to be anemones, always such a popular flower in the 18th and 19th century and often seen also on "still live" paintings. The initials S.D. are unusually embroidered and outlined twice in single "petit point " embroidery and in somewhat a variant of Roman Style lettering.
