VINIFICATION
Singular and born of a viticulture of resilience, Mirabilis White2023 is crafted from rare raw material and embodies the ambitionto go further - to produce a Douro wine for the world.Entering the world of Mirabilis is to transcend territorialboundaries - it is to create, with energy and conviction, anunrepeatable wine that endures over time.
Mirabilis White originates from very old and centenary vineyards, where native grape varieties such as Viosinho and Gouveiodominate, accompanied by other extremely rare varieties, some ofwhich are nearly extinct in the region. At the origin of Mirabilis is a harvest conducted with almostsurgical precision, preceded by meticulous ripeness monitoring ofeach parcel. Fermentation and ageing take place mainly incarefully selected French oak barrels, with a portion of the blendaged in small raw cement vats, where freshness and minerality arerevealed with transparency and subtlety.

WINE VARIETIES: Tinta Roriz (100%).
VINIFICATION
We went to the highest slopes in the top of Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo to pick the grapes that mature more slowly and maintain greater freshness and linearity, and to create the Quinta Nova Blanc de Noir, a Reserva white wine made from red grapes.
The beautiful Tinta Roriz grapes are the first to enter our winery. We harvest them at their perfect maturation point, so that we can extract all the components that make this wine unique and sublime.
Vinified in stainless steel vats, including final fermentation in second- or third-use barrels and 27% in cement vats. 6 months in French oak barrels and cement.
TASTING NOTES
Delicate citrus aromas combined with white stone fruit support the complex and vibrant, enigmatic aroma. With remarkable firmness granted by the red grapes, this is a compact, fresh and tense wine, offering an endless finish with great precision, as a great wine should be. Classicism combined with modern winemaking, this Reserve white wine from Quinta Nova is a thrilling wine that awakens all our senses.
HISTORY
With a history spanning over 200 years, Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo occupies over 120 ha of land, and has been listed since the first demarcation of the Douro wine region, in 1756, during the Pombaline era.
The original wine cellar that dates back to 1764 and the 19th century manor house with a chapel (1795) are harmoniously integrated into one of the estate's hills.
Owned by the Portuguese Royal Family until 1725, it became a “new estate” when two estates were merged. Several Portuguese families lived in the estate in the 18th and 19th centuries, during an important period in the agriculture of the Douro, and gave life to the vineyards and wine, fruit orchards, water mills built along the stream that runs through the estate and the old olive grove.
Since 1999 the estate’s history has been intensely lived by the Amorim family. Now in its fourth generation, the Amorim family has been linked to the wine trade since 1870, through its first trading activity - producing cork stoppers for the Port Wine Cellars, in Vila Nova de Gaia. It is now one of the most prominent family groups in Portugal, and operates in several countries of the world, in different business sectors. The estate is now managed by Luisa Amorim, who has significantly augmented the family's wine business. With deep cultural awareness, the wines have ancestral roots in Portugal’s finest wine regions, including unique places such as the Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo in the Douro and the Quinta da Taboadella in the Dão region.
