賣家描述
Ishihaze Guinomi — Japanese Sake Cup with Stone-Burst Feldspathic Glaze
A striking and tactilely captivating sake cup (guinomi) exhibiting a dramatic ishihaze ("stone-burst") glaze effect — one of the most prized and visually exciting surface phenomena in Japanese studio ceramics.
The entire outer surface is covered in a dense, rounded nodular texture formed when a thick feldspathic glaze contracts and beads up during high-temperature firing, creating a raised, cobblestone-like landscape of pearlescent grey-white bubbles separated by dark iron-rich fissures.
Certain areas catch the light with an iridescent, oil-on-water sheen — a hallmark of well-fired ishihaze glazework.
The form is robust and hand-built in feeling, with a slightly irregular rim that lends it a natural, wabi character well suited to the tea table or sake ritual.
The interior carries the same ishihaze glaze in softer relief, creating a pleasing visual continuity between the inner and outer surfaces.
The unglazed footring reveals a dense, sand-textured stoneware body in warm ochre-beige tones, with natural iron flashing at the shoulder of the foot.
A mark appears on or near the base — likely an artist's incised signature or seal — though its precise reading has not been established.
