Reduced to its essential form, this example is especially appealing for the purity of its line, the balance of its proportions, and its quiet sculptural strength. Originally conceived as a utilitarian club, it also stands today as a remarkably minimal object, whose beauty lies in its simplicity and fine old use patina.
