Authentic Art Deco / Modernist glass vase, crafted in the renowned glassmaking region of Haida (Nový Bor), Bohemia, and attributed to the workshops of Karl Palda. This piece is a example of the modernist "Skyscraper" aesthetic that dominated the 1930s. This vase is a collector's item from the peak of the Bohemian Art Deco era. Its bold lines and architectural presence make it a standout piece for any interior or glass collection. The vase features a heavy, clear glass body with an octagonal rim and a complex, faceted architectural base. It is decorated with striking, hand-painted black enamel geometric arches that wrap around the vessel. Adding to its sophistication, the lower sections are embellished with fine, acid-etched or engraved floral and circular motifs, a hallmark of Bohemian quality. The vase is in good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. The black enamel remains mostly well-preserved. There are minor superficial scratches consistent with its nearly 100-year age. The underside shows significant authentic "shelf wear" and scratching, confirming its period of origin and historical use.
