A striking piece of cognac history: the Rémy Martin "Centaure Limoges" decanter, produced in the 1980s as a limited presentation edition of Rémy Martin Fine Champagne Cognac. Artoria Limoges. The bottle takes the form of the house's famous centaur emblem — half man, half horse, rearing back and hurling his spear — cast in gilded Limoges porcelain with a polished 24k-gold-effect finish. The spear itself is a separate metal rod, and the piece stands on an integrated gold base plaque reading "Rémy Martin – Fine Champagne Cognac – Produce of France – 70cl – 40% vol." The reverse of the box carries the "Centaure Limoges" nameplate confirming the edition. This example is in exceptional, essentially untouched condition: Sealed / full – the cognac appears never to have been opened Presented in its original navy blue velvet-lined display box with satin interior and gold "Rémy Martin" lettering Still fitted with the original bilingual French/English care cards ("Cet objet en porcelaine est fragile…" / "This porcelain item is fragile…"), attached by their original cord ties Retains the original numbered quality-control tag ("Dispak S. Coop.") — a detail almost never found intact after 40 years Outer card sleeve present, with barcode and "Rémy Martin – Fine Champagne Cognac" script lettering No visible chips, cracks, or wear to the gilding These gold centaur decanters were made in relatively small numbers alongside the better-known blue Bernardaud version, and unopened examples with a complete, undamaged presentation box and paperwork are now genuinely hard to find. Most surviving pieces on the market today are empty display bottles with worn or missing boxes — this lot is a rare exception.
