Etching on laid paper without watermark, trimmed near the plate edge. Blank verso. Two tiny woodworm holes visible only on the verse, one on the left side and one on the bottom edge. The paper is slightly corrugated. Modern colouring.

The Parisian Pierre Aveline, called Le Vieux, was an engraver and printer of topographic maps; he was the forefather of a family of engravers: in fact, his two sons, Pierre-Alexandre and Antoine, carried on his business.
