A fine Doucai plate with floral motives - Kangxi/Yongzheng period. Finely depicted flowers with a brown border in a Doucai palette. Doucai (or “contrasted colours”) wares are of very high and refined quality. A combination of underglaze blue outlines with overglaze enamels. Due to the difficulty in making and firing these wares, often with bad results, Doucai porcelain is very sought after by collectors.
