This sign features a bold crimson "Choryo" design on a white enamel background. It was designed to shine in the snowy light of a Showa-era sake shop. The white symbolizes the purity of the sake and the cleanliness of the brewery, while the bold red calligraphy evokes a rich, well-balanced, delicious sake. Typical of enamel signs from the mid-Showa period, it has a beautiful, highly visible composition that is memorable even when viewed from afar.
