Quality antique Victorian drum head mantle pendulum clock with a French-made movement. Beautiful walnut case with ebonised accents raised on a moulded plinth and flanked by carved scrolls. Enamel dial with Roman numerals and lunar / moon hands in original brass bezel with hinged glass cover.

Made in France, c, 1870's.

Stamped "Medaille d’Argent Vincenti & Cie 1855"

Founded in 1823, Vincenti & Cie won awards at the Paris exhibitions of 1834, 1839, 1844, 1849, 1855 and 1867.

1032 g (with pendulum)
17 cm tall
21 x 9.7 cm across the base
Pendulum – 11.5 cm

Case in good antique condition. Some minor losses to veneer; small chips to glass cover near the edge; some scratches to enamel dial. The movement requires attention - it runs too fast if the pendulum is removed, but doesn't run when the pendulum is attached.
