Limbach, Thuringia - Art Deco - Nude Lady with Snake (20,5 cm) - ca 1930 - Statuette - Porcelæn

Magnificent Art Deco figurine of a “Nude Lady with Snake”, rare Limbach Porzellan Manufaktur creation, in excellent condition.

It depicts a nude lady standing, partially covered with a white drape with red flowers, while on her right foot a large snake crawl up. The entire figure emanate sensuality and details are made to perfection. Surprisingly gild is not yellow but white gold/silver hand painted, making it more unique and beautiful.

Limbach figurine are among the most hard to collect as the factory operate only a short limited period of time in producing them.

Limbach Porzellanfabrik was founded in 1772 by Gotthelf Greiner (mainly known for discovering German porcelain recipe) and as late as 1937 was advertising bathing beauty figurines.

It is in excellent condition, marked with the green “three leaves clover” mark on the back of the base, impressed numbered #S2986, however with faded gild and tiny glaze stripe missing on the leg, otherwise NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
