You are bidding on a very fine and rare antique 4/4 violin, labeled Joseph Rocca fecit Taurini anno Domini 1841.
The instrument is in ready to play condition with some tears, wears and small repaired f-hole crack on top. The violin has an excellent straight high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple. The whole length of the violin is 590 mm and the back 362 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 168 mm; middle bouts: 114 mm; lower bouts: 205 mm. Full size.
