This clock is old, hand carved, gilded and without any damage. It was never produced with a battery operated mechanism. So there is no such original mechanism. Sorry for the dead battery but it was working at the time of shipping. The battery is standard and the cost of buying a new one is minimal. The clock was listed from 1 Euro which is not a high price.
