A highly-detailed coelacanth fish in beautiful red–rust colours. The preservation of the scales is stunning. As usual with fossils from the lower Triassic of northern Madagascar, the specimen consists of the external moulds of the left and right flanks of the fish, preserved in a calcareous concretion. Some of the cracks were filled.
