From rubies to tanzanites, Purificacion spent hours as a child playing with various gemstones her parents would bring home from Africa, where her father worked and lived for much of her childhood. Purificacion’s fascination with gemstones as a child inspired her later education, earning a degree in Gemology from the Spanish Gemological Institute (IGE) in Madrid. With this firm foundation, she deepened her expertise by becoming a certified Diamonds Grading Expert, a Coloured Gemstones Grading Expert, and earning an additional degree in Jewellery Appraisal from the same institution. Outside of her passion for precious stones and jewellery, Purificacion also boasts an MBA and has spent much of her career working in the distribution and logistics sector for multinational companies across Europe. As a Gemstones Expert at Catawiki, Purificacion combines her business acumen and Gemology credentials to curate auctions featuring a mesmerising mix of beautiful gemstones for the benefit of Catawiki’s buyers and sellers.
