Catawiki strives to be a trustworthy and reliable marketplace. We therefore want to ensure our sellers meet our standards and as such we've implemented measures to verify the identity of our sellers, together with our payment service providers. Additional requirements apply to professional sellers, also under applicable legislation.
Our process ensures we have accurate and up-to-date information about the identity of our professional sellers, allowing us to effectively mitigate risks and maintain a safe online environment. In line with our legal obligations, certain information we collect about our professional sellers is made available on our platform in a clear and easily accessible manner.
What details of the sellers can I see on your platform?
Catawiki is providing relevant details about our professional sellers on the platform, allowing potential buyers to make informed choices and understand who they are doing business with. At the same time, we also need to consider applicable data protection legislation, meaning not all personal data of sellers can be made publicly available. In any case, you’ll be able to see the business registration number of all professional sellers and business or billing address of professional sellers registered as a legal entity.
Can you provide the contact details of a specific seller?
Catawiki has multiple processes in place to verify a seller’s identity and ensure we can offer a reliable platform. In order to protect user privacy and data security, we share certain contact details only after a sale is concluded. Currently, buyers are able to directly get in touch with the seller after the sale has concluded via our dedicated buyer/seller communication channel so that any questions or concerns can be addressed.
How do I know if a seller is verified as legitimate?
As explained above, Catawiki, together with our payment service providers, ensures the identity of all sellers is verified as part of the seller onboarding process..
