You may be asked to upload an ID document to verify your identity before receiving seller payouts. If this is required, you’ll receive an email from Catawiki and you’ll also see a notification in your Catawiki account.

Catawiki works with Stripe, our payment processor, to complete identity verification. Stripe accepts the following documents as proof of identity:

For most countries where Catawiki is active, you can use:

1. Passport
2. Government-issued ID card
3. Driver’s license

For Japan, the accepted documents are:

1. Passport
2. Juki card with photo
3. Driver’s license
4. Foreign nationals residence card
5. Health insurance card with certificate of residence
6. National pension notebook

The information on your ID document must match the personal details entered in your Catawiki account, including your first name, surname, and date of birth.

If you are a professional seller, make sure the company name is also entered correctly in your Catawiki account.

When uploading your document:

1. Use a clear colour copy or photo.
2. Include both the front and back of your ID card, if applicable.
3. Make sure the full document is visible.
4. Make sure no information is hidden, covered, cropped, or unreadable.
5. Save the file as a PDF or JPG, if possible.

Please upload the document through the secure verification flow in your Catawiki account. Do not send your ID document by email or through customer support messages unless specifically instructed through the official verification process.

After your submission has been processed, the copies of your ID document will be deleted.
