Shipping & Delivery
What happens if I miss delivery or refuse the package?

If you miss a delivery attempt
If you miss a delivery attempt, what happens next depends on the shipping company’s process.

Short-term: package is held

  • The shipping company may leave a note and try to redeliver, or drop your package at a nearby pickup point.
  • Track your package using the link on your Order page and collect it as soon as possible.

If the package is returned to the seller
If your package is returned to the seller, contact them to understand why and agree on who will cover reshipping.

Who pays for reshipping?
Who pays for reshipping depends on why the first delivery attempt didn’t work out:

  • If it was your responsibility (for example, you weren’t home, refused the package, entered the wrong address, or didn’t pay customs fees in time): You’ll need to pay for reshipping if you still want the object.
  • If it was the seller’s responsibility (for example, they entered the wrong address): The seller must pay for reshipping.

Contact the seller via your Order page to agree on next steps. If the seller is unresponsive or you can’t reach an agreement, contact Catawiki Support for help.

How to prevent an order from being returned to the seller

  • Track your package on your Order page and the shipping company’s website.
  • Stay in touch with the seller about the status of your shipment
  • If your order goes through customs, stay in touch with the seller and check your emails regularly in case the customs authorities contact you. You can also reach out to the shipping company to check the customs status.
