As a buyer, you’re responsible for paying the shipping costs unless free shipping is explicitly offered by the seller.
Shipping costs are added to your total at checkout, together with the final bid and the Buyer Protection fee.
You can’t pay for shipping separately from the final bid.
How shipping costs are determined
When sellers list an object, they must set shipping costs for all supported countries.
These costs are shown clearly at checkout and include:
- Shipping company fees
- Packaging costs
- Applicable taxes, such as VAT
Please note that these costs don’t include customs duties or import taxes — these are always the buyer’s responsibility. We are unable to determine these costs in advance because they depend on the specific import regulations of the buyer’s country and the shipping origin of the object. We recommend that buyers check with their local customs authority to estimate any applicable import charges before placing a bid.
If you selected pickup by mistake
If you accidentally selected pickup during payment but the object also offers shipping, you can still arrange shipment directly with the seller.
Contact the seller to discuss the shipping arrangements and pay the shipping costs directly to them.
When shipping isn’t offered
If the object page doesn’t show a shipping option, it means the seller has chosen to make the object available for pickup only.
In this case, it's up to the seller to decide whether they’re willing to arrange shipping after the sale. We recommend messaging the seller directly to discuss the options.
