Beautiful Megalodon tooth from Indonesia. Found on Java Island. Completely natural beige colors. A particular and rare tooth because the animal developed it with a deformity.
Otodus megalodon (whose species name, megalodon, comes from Greek and means "great tooth"), commonly known as megalodon, is an extinct species of giant shark that lived from the Early Miocene to the Early Pliocene, about 23-3.6 million years ago (Aquitanian-Zanclean), whose large fossil teeth indicate it had a cosmopolitan distribution. It was previously thought that O. megalodon was a member of the family Lamnidae and a close relative of the great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias), but later studies reclassified it within the extinct family Otodontidae, a family that diverged from the lineage of the great white shark during the Early Cretaceous.

Estimates of the megalodon's size vary depending on the method used, with projections of maximum total length ranging from 14.2 to 20.3 meters.
