1000 songs in your pocket
‘1000 songs in your pocket’ was the advertising slogan of the best selling portable music player ever. The iPod appeared just after the millennium in 2001. Critics did not expect that the device would be such a tremendous success because of its high price ($399), but despite that the success was overwhelming. Soon the original 5GB version was followed by a 10GB version, and later even doubled to 20GB. Finally, six generations of the sleek iPod Classic were available on the market. The sixth generation appeared in 2007, which was sold until 2014. In 2014, Apple pulled the plug on production. Seeing as the Classic is no longer produced, it is a collector's item in the making.
