    I am not an official paleontologust, but this is my hobby. Both starfish are fake! Just carved out from a stone, and painted. Which can be washed out with benzine! I want my money back, everything.

    Good morning. I'm sorry you didn't appreciate the items you received. As usual, especially if specified, when these types of starfish, like other fossils, are restored, they are typically enhanced with surface color treatments. Obviously, if you dissolve and remove the layers of protective lacquer applied to the piece and the color, you will see the object fade.
