Rare, very large size antique nun rosary - Franciscan Sisters - c. 1900, Franciscan Sisters of Veghel Holland. Rosary in very large format. The prayer beads were worn around the wast and therefore equipped with a fixing ring and a hook. The rosary consists of 58 beads of black-painted fruit seeds, 2 medallions and a large Crucifix - brass link chain. Depicted on one of the large medallions: Jezus (with the text: "allerheiligst hart van Jezus, ontferm u onzer") - Jezus, Mary and Joseph (text: "Jezus, Maria, Jozef, beschermt onze congregatie") The other big medallion shows a Saint (San Vincenzo?) and Mary. In good condition with signs of use/age as shown in the photos - Cross and Medallions a bit worn - clearly touched often by the hands/fingers! This type of rosary is rarely found nowadays!!
