In 1936, architect and designer Alvar Aalto Savoy designed the vase Savoy for the World Fair in Paris (1937). At the time, it was a revolutionary design, inspired by waves in the water (aalto in Finnish). Since then it is an iconic design in Finnish design and the total world of glass design. The vase was manufactured by Iitala, the firm from the South-Finnish town of the same name. The colour is cobalt blue (rare), slightly darker than in the pictures. It is still made by hand/mouth-blown, and requires teamwork from a group of glassblowers. The condition is perfect, equipped with a small label of Iitala. The shape causes the reflections in the photos. The dimensions: 16 cm high, 20.5 cm wide and 8-18.5 cm deep. The vase will be professionally packaged and shipped by registered mail.
