Pendule Antique Frisonne - Bois, chêne, Laiton - 18ème siècle
A blended dark oak Frisian tail clock which was made in the Jouster Clock Factory in Joure and features a bell strike. The Frisian tail clock is equipped with a one-day movement which needs to be pulled every day. The striking mechanism will strike once every half hour and the number of hours on the full hour, and it features a bell strike. The wonderful dial features black Roman numerals and beautiful elegant brass hands. In addition, there is a lovely scene with boats incorporated in the movement, which is powered by the mechanical movement. This always shows you the correct moon phase of that moment. The top of the clock is finished with two angels, on either side of the clock, and Atlas carrying a globe at the centre of the clock. All in all a wonderful handmade clock with beautiful details in the dial and the tail of the clock.
There are three other additional brass emblems at the top of the clock.
Circa 1880.
130 cm long, 42 cm wide and 22 cm deep.
