Valuable and large antique copper serving tray (72 cm diameter and 3.5 kg) with nice fine hand engraved drawing of an elite couple, with angels, Hanuman, hunters, tigers, deer and flora and fauna - India - late 19th C. This Indian copperwork is rare and is among the best made. Even now it shows a rich and varied history. The application of the piece itself and the decoration show a rich and often unknown history. You must realise that the technique to make this copperwork has almost died out. This is a tray from the 19th C. which can be seen from the fine and rich details of the drawing and the amount of copper used. Rare and practical, made of copper and in good condition for its age. Dated: 1st half 20th century. Includes nice details in the copperwork. Objects with this much detail and craftsmanship haven't been made for centuries. Good condition with some remarks: a hole has been drilled at the top to hang this on the wall (should be restored) and it is green at some spots. The whole is finished completely smooth.
