Valise antique utilisée lors des voyages de la Steamship Company "The Netherlands" - Vulcanite et bois

This suitcase has seen a lot of the world and is very decorative. To show off in your home or in your shop window. It was used, among other things, on trips of “Stoomvaart-Maatschappij Nederland" located at the Javakade in Amsterdam. On the front are still 2 hut stickers of this company. Even the passenger's data can still be seen, although they have almost faded after all these years. The sailing seems to be 1935. Photo 2 shows one of their ships in 1911. The case is made of vulcanite with wooden straps reinforced with metal. The handles and locks are made of metal and still work perfectly. The metal has developed a beautiful patina. The Stoomvaart-Maatschappij Nederland (SMN) was a Dutch shipping company based in Amsterdam and existed between 1870 and 1970. The SMN was established on 13th May, 1870 in Amsterdam for shipping from northwestern Europe to the then Dutch East Indies via the newly opened Suez Canal. Among the founders was Prince Hendrik ‘De Zeevaarder’ The passenger ships were particularly well known, such as Johan de Witt (1920-1948), Christiaan Huygens (1928-1945), Johan van Oldenbarnevelt (1930-1963), Marnix van Sint Aldegonde (1930-1943), Oranje (1939-1964) and Willem Ruys (1947-1964). This lot has been carefully cleaned, will be packaged with great care and sent by insured and registered mail (with Track and Trace code). Pick up in (Ridderkerk-Zuid Holland) is, of course, also possible.
