Osvaldo Borsani was born in 1911 in Varedo, Italy. He studied fine arts at the Brera Academy in Milan and architecture at the Milan Polytechnic, graduating in 1936. While he was still studying Borsani took part in the fifth Milan Triennial, presenting his design 'Casa Minima' (minimal house), that earned him a silver medal. At the same time he began collaborating with his father, Gaetano, in the family business, Atelier Varedo, producing high quality furniture with European Deco influences. In 1932 the company was renamed Arredamento Borsani and opened its first space in Milan. In the same period, Borsani began to collaborate with Milanese artists such as Lucio Fontana, Agenore Fabbri, Arnaldo and Gio Pomodoro In 1953 Osvaldo and his twin brother Fulgenzio opened TECNO, a company that became known for its technology and approach to research, based in the design of office furniture. Amongst the many successful products was the P128 swivel chair with wheels. This example was purchased in the 1970s by a famous Venetian architect. Thanks to the top quality materials that it was made from, the comfort, strength, beauty and softness of the leather have been preserved over the years. It has no tears or rips and is truly in very good condition, as is the hydraulic lifting system and the rotation mechanism.
