Stauton porcelain chess set of the Porcelain Manufacturer Cmielow, 1960-1970
With real wooden case.
Cmielow has been producing porcelain since 1790, which can be gleaned from the marking on the kings and each figure bears the “M” gold-decorated logo of the manufacturer.
Flawless condition, excellent - like new.
Interestingly, the bishops of each side have differently coloured end pieces, but not -as in e.g. Czech, Austrian or Hungarian sets- with the colours of the opposing side, but with the colour of the squares they occupy. The runners on each side have a black or white end cap.
All pieces with felt. Despite being made of porcelain, they are very well playable.
They lie comfortably in the hand.
The figures are stored securely in the chessboard case made of real wood.
Height: King: 85 mm, pawn 40 mm
Chessboard = 305 x 305 x 52 mm
Everything was photographed, and the photos provide a good impression.
