The blade has a sloping part to optimize the cutting properties of the instrument, and to aid the weight and balance of it. The blade is rolling forged to get an excellent balanced instrument and meet the high demands of the use outside. All Martindale grips are made of German beechwood. They check the dampness of the wood in order to have a consistent product and make sure it will not split under normal circumstances.
