Tadayoshi a hizen katana inshirasaya, dated 1660, with gold inhall insription signed : Hizen no Kuni Tadayoshi japan, 1660 Slender gently curved blade is shinogi zukuri and iori mune. nagasaga 69,4 cm as long katana.The Hamon is sugu in nie deki ending in omaru boshi, hada itema with same mokume. Silver habaki with fine fiele marks. the nakago with one ana and kiri jiri, gilt inhalled tameshigiri, mei: Manji sannen nigatsu hi, futatsu do setsuday, Yamato Kameon- the day of the secund month, manji 3 rd year a testcutting of futatso do by Yamano Kaemon. the present sword was tested by a leader of the Yamano school in 1660. This scool was responsible for testing sword for sharpnes and smoth cutting ability. this sword was testid , he cleany cut through two deceased humen torsos. The early generazin made Hizen Tadayoshi blade was complited the test as the writing say. I m lover of Japanees swords as they are strongly undervalued, finely created handwork, with very fine details, and mostly not reproducable - dificult skills need, many knowledge allready lost. Technicly there are only 3-3.5 million Samurai swords made in Japan, before showa period, this items are not any more in a same condtion, many has rosted, or damaged during periods. Real Japanees Samurai Sword showing - made to kill, and most of them has been used. It was extramly higly respected, and very expensive in that time.( I have heard that 500 man was give for a Muramas blade in edo period) During edo period there was no inside war and, many blade has survived as "never used". Seadly keep it in healt, as the owner looking to keep it in fine condition is a problem. Many balde suffering from oxidation mark. Seadly many urushi lacquers get split from UV, or from water of condition. In this case this days and the future will be more harder to find a fine condition sword. If U would ever buy Japanees sword well , this is the best time to do so. I did restauret Japanees sword 10 years long but now I stopped, the inflation rised, will rise the cost of restauration, and on a day in very soon there will be a point to worth restauret it agein, but this is not that years. How expensive is it-Just for info: If U have a blade and did get rost, U have to find a polisher, pay minimum 12 euro for each cm, and this is not the cost to make a Japanees sword, only restauration. U can look a smith with a modern blade 60 cm nagasaga , wich made by hand the balde cost minimum 1000-3000 euro to have a realy good blade, polishing 800- 1600 depend from quality, a new koshire, depened from quality minimum ( very basic military styl) 400 euro till the moon, depend from materila as gold silver and hand craft used. Not talking about the urushi lacquere of the saya wich could take one year to be done fine. I think U understand it. How to keep real antique Samurai sword : I do request all sword Keeper to not put the sword on the sun for long, do not let the blade out of the saya. do not touch the blade if dont need. always use a tishu after using. Cleaning blade are importent part, U can see many video from youtube, but not all details are there. - if U clean the balde make sure U remove all dust or smale wood from the blade, and from the saya!, if U oiling the balde, please remove all extra oil from the balde, becosue it will contact with the wood in the saya, and can happen the wood and other dust from the saya stick to the blade, make extra damage. Make sure The water condition are not changing mach.
