- The falcon was considered king of the birds in ancient Egypt and was associated with a number of gods, including the sky god Horus, who was often shown with the head of a falcon. The Eye of Horus is a hawk-like eye representing the sharpness of his protective qualities. The Eye of Horus also had healing properties.
