These books are a masterful blend of sensual narrative by Koi Koi Sanjin and the exquisite woodblock prints of Utagawa Kunikazu, a celebrated artist from Osaka during the Edo period. Kunikazu, known for his versatility across various ukiyo-e genres including actor prints, beauties, sumo, landscapes, and genre scenes, was a disciple of the third Utagawa Toyokuni, proudly bearing the Utagawa name and the pseudonym Ichijusai from 1849 (Kaei 2) to approximately 1867 (Keio 3). Embellished with sumi ink illustrations, these volumes delve into the realm of shunga, showcasing explicit scenes that perfectly complement the erotic tales penned by Koi Koi Sanjin.
