A very fine antique 4/4 violin, labeled Vincent Panormo rue d l'arbre-sec, Paris 1791. The instrument is in ready to play condition with tears, wears, small repaired cracks on top and ribs, new ebony and rosewood set up, new bridge and new strings. The violin has an excellent medium to high grained spruce of the top and one piece back of strongly flamed maple with antique painting, matched sides, neck and scroll. Rich golden amber varnish with some tears shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 587 mm and the back 359 mm. The total length of the violin is 589 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 165 mm; middle bouts: 116 mm; lower bouts: 207 mm. Full size. The sound is very deep, rich, powerful, suitable for soloist.
