Elegant Art deco figurine, inspired by Gio Ponti, in cream and gold made by the "S.A.C.A." (Società Accomandita Ceramiche Artistiche) factory in Sesto Fiorentino, Italy, between 1923-1950.
S.A.C.A. was founded in 1923 by Renzo Guarnieri, Serafino Bittini and Ugo Grassi, former workers of the local Richard-Ginori factory.
Thanks to the good success achieved as early as 1923, the owners began the construction of a new factory, intended to be continuously expanded over the years.
The factory, whose production in the 1920s was mostly made up of good quality ceramics of Urbino and Byzantine style, changed style in the 1930s by creating modern Pontian inspired ceramics, often monochromatic, well modeled and decorated with gold in the third firing.
After the crisis of 1936, Renzo Guarnieri left the company.
Gradually, however, the factory returned to production and once again assumed a predominant position in the productive fabric of Sesto, so much so that in 1937 the factory facilities were expanded.
From these years it is the most modern production composed of twentieth-century style ceramics and some futuristic creations.
Production was suspended during the war years and the factory's furnaces, recovered from the numerous bombing damages, were switched on again in 1946 and production continued until the early 1950s.
