EDGAR BRANDT and DAUM NANCY - A very rare and important modernist table lamp in chrome-nickel and glass. An identical model is illustrated in Joan Kahr's "Edgar Brandt - Master of Art Deco Ironwork" published by Harry N. Harris, 1999, page 197. The two acid-etched cylindrical glass shades are mounted on an S-shaped frame, sided by circular disks and ball motifs, on a circular base. Edgar Brandt's stamped signature is on the metal base, and Daum Nancy France, with the cross of Lorraine, etched crayon signatures, are on both shades. Wear consistent with age and use. The diffuser shades are original and fully intact, with no chips or cracks. The surface has minor traces of time, some patina to the plating, and minimal scuffs. The lamp is in working condition, and it is recommended that it be rewired for voltage in the destination country. Door-to-door shipping via major shippers, expedited, professionally packed, and insured at full value, hence the higher shipping price.
