Pair of leaves from a medieval Evangeliarium (gospelbook) in Latin. Manuscript on vellum (parchment) with beautiful decorations in penwork in red and blue ink. Written in black ink on 30 lines in two collums. Made in Southern Europe - probably Italy - in the 15th century. In total 14 beautiful initials in penwork on the two leaves ! Two parts of the gospels of: Saint Luce with the story of Jesus annointed by a woman in th House of Simon the Pharisee and Saint Matthew about forgiving each other 7 x 70 times. In passe partouts. Dimensions without passe-partout : 27, 5 x 19, 0,2 cm. With passe partout: 41 x x 30 x 0,5 cm. Registered shipping.
