Ancient Egyptian Necklace - Wearable! Circa 664-332 BC - Late Period This necklace, comprised of restrung blue glass and stone beads, exhibits predominantly spherical shapes arranged in an irregular ensemble, interspersed with red carnelian beads of both spherical and biconical profiles. In ancient Egypt, faience and carnelian were extensively utilized materials, with faience being a ceramic material made from crushed quartz or sand, while carnelian, a type of chalcedony, presented vibrant red hues. Faience was commonly employed in jewellery, amulets, and pottery, while carnelian was favoured for its colour and used in creating seals, amulets, and jewellery.
