In the early 1920s, there was a growing interest in studying the Etruscans. There have been quite a few scientists working on this topic. For example, in the years 1927-1929 three monographs by Hans Mühlestein on the Etruscans were published. Among other things, "The Art of the Etruscans", a 100-page catalog with panels and individual objects was shown in this volume. The Spaun family, who were networked with artists and intellectuals across Europe, probably took up this topic.
The Lötz company used antique vases from the National Museum in Naples as models for their "Etrusk" series.
