Egyptian Alabastron in teardrop shape with two small tenons acting as miniature handles and a rounded rim which is flat on top. This alabastron served to contain and to transport precious perfumed oils or kohl. The stopper would have been made of a perishable material (fabric, wax).
Length: 71,8 mm
Width: 32,3 mm
Kohl is the basis of black eye paint which the Egyptians made from powdered galena (type of rock crystal) and was applied around the eyes to help protect from the sun.
Condition: good solid condition and appealing ancient patina. Kohl residue on the outside. Signs of wear consistent with an ancient artefact. See images.
Certificate of Authenticity: available upon request (pdf-format).
